In high-purity chemical systems, maintaining ultra-pure fluid systems and eliminating electrostatic discharge (ESD) events are critical to safety, while preventing damage to equipment and avoiding any induction of contaminates, ensuring the final objective product is unaffected and maintains its integrity. While the new ESD prevention products are essential for the elimination of ESD events, it has proven important to show they do not introduce additional contaminants, such as TOC, ionic extractables, or particulates.
Ensuring no induce electrical charges in the process chemicals themselves. Therefore, if the quality, purity of the ESD potential chemical is impacted by stainless steel contact (no induced ionic impurities allowed), a liquid contacting PFA carbonized conductive pathway or carbonized plastic construction path is the only alternative. In the following we show the testing, data, and ultimate effectiveness of solutions used for the designing for prevention of electrostatic discharge in process chemical applications.
